In yet another move to address their bullpen, the Pirates acquired right-handed reliever Lake Bachar from the Marlins before Monday’s trade deadline, per an announcement from Pittsburgh. The Pirates are the third big league organization for the 31-year-old Bachar, whom the Padres drafted in the fifth round in 2016. His 25.2% strikeout rate is solid, though his 8.7% walk rate and 38.6% ground-ball rate are below average. The 25-year-old debuted with the Pirates this year and limped to a 6.32 ERA in 15 innings. Thanks in part to a paltry 23.9% ground-ball rate, Bidois yielded five home runs in a small sample of work.
