The data highlights regional variations in solar adoption, with the South East emerging as one of the top-performing regions, just behind the South West, according to Solar4Good’s analysis of energy data.
The South East recorded a total solar capacity of 2,798.6 megawatts (MW) and generated 2,301,811 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity.
Breaking down the data further by local authority, Cornwall emerged as the UK leader, producing 536,496 MWh of solar electricity.
Other high-performing areas included Dorset with 302,134 MWh, South Cambridgeshire with 257,056 MWh, and East Cambridgeshire with 239,086 MWh.
In the South East, Buckinghamshire secured ninth place nationally with 194,599 MWh of solar generation.
