Rt Hon Peter Kyle, MP for Hove and Portslade, made the remarks during a recent meeting with the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) at the Caffyns Volkswagen dealership in Brighton. During the visit, Mr Kyle met with apprentices and discussed the automotive sector’s efforts to develop skills to support electric vehicle growth. Mr Kyle said: "My whole Parliamentary career has been spent working on skills and also green energy, so to be able to combine this in a visit to an exceptional Sussex business was immensely enjoyable. The transition to electric vehicles will never be a success unless we train the next generation of mechanics." The NFDA continues to engage with politicians from across the political spectrum to ensure the views of franchised retailers are represented as the industry continues to evolve.
