The scheme is supported by Lewes District Council and operated by Co-Wheels, offering a pay-as-you-go alternative to car ownership with vehicles available in Lewes, Newhaven, Seaford and Peacehaven. Councillor Emily O’Brien, cabinet member for climate, nature and food systems at Lewes District Council, said: "I’m delighted that Co Wheels expanded its service from Lewes across the district, to Peacehaven, Seaford and Newhaven. "Car clubs provide a practical and affordable alternative to owning a vehicle, while helping to reduce congestion, lower carbon emissions and support more sustainable travel habits. Vehicles can be hired by the hour or day, with fuel, insurance and maintenance included in the cost. Co-Wheels vehicles are available at Pinwell Road, Phoenix Causeway and Little East Street in Lewes, as well as Lower Place in Newhaven, Sutton Road in Seaford and Steyning Avenue in Peacehaven.
