Horsham’s Liberal Democrat MP, John Milne, has backed the proposal to improve oversight and provide communities with a route to challenge decisions made by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). "That's why I’m supporting the creation of an independent aviation ombudsman, which would restore confidence for residents in Horsham and across the UK. "This is not about being anti-aviation; an independent ombudsman would benefit residents and the aviation industry alike by providing a fair, transparent and trusted process." He is also sponsoring a Private Member’s Bill, the Civil Aviation Authority (Ombudsman) Bill, which is due to receive its second reading in the House of Commons in November. She said current remedies do not address the underlying issue of a lack of consumer rights in airspace change decisions and called for an independent ombudsman.
