GRAND FORKS — Lightning strikes caused two house fires on opposite sides of town in East Grand Forks Monday morning. One was rendered completely unlivable, according to East Grand Forks Interim Fire Chief Paul Hansen. But Hansen said he's never seen a structural fire caused by lightning in East Grand Forks. In East Grand Forks, firefighters received the first call at 7:22 a.m. from 805 First Ave. N.E. They were also assisted by Altru Ambulance, East Grand Forks Police Department and East Grand Forks Water and Light.
