GRAND FORKS — A composition commissioned by the North Dakota Music Teachers Association will be premiered in concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Popplers Music, 1726 S. Washington St. ADVERTISEMENTThe concert will feature “A Dialog on Hope,” by Emily Black Driscoll of Williston, North Dakota, and student winners of Popplers Competition. A workshop for piano teachers, set for 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, is free and open to the public. Helen Marlais, a nationally certified member of the Music Teachers National Association, will be the guest clinician and speaker during the North Dakota Music Teachers Association conference taking place Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 5-6, at Popplers Music in Grand Forks. Her most recent compositions include “And There Was Music,” commissioned by the Williston Thursday Musical Chapter of the North Dakota Federation of Music Clubs in 2022.
