The Boston Red Sox are acquiring All-Star catcher Adley Rutschman from the Baltimore Orioles, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. Baltimore also sent catcher Jake Rogers to the Red Sox. Orioles team president Mike Elias said Boston’s offer made the intra-division swapping of players worthwhile. The Red Sox also dealt right-hander Tyler Uberstine to Atlanta for outfielder Eli White. The Rutschman piece gives the surging Red Sox, winners of 23 of their last 26, a needed offensive upgrade at catcher.
