The San Francisco 49ers are deeply saddened by the passing of former linebacker Jim Fahnhorst, who passed away on Wednesday, September 17th at the age of 66. Fahnhorst was a contributing member to three Super Bowl Championships (XIX, XXIII and XXIV). Cloud, MN, he attended the University of Minnesota where he earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors in 1981. He would later earn his degree in psychology at the University of San Francisco in 1988. Jim is the younger brother of former offensive lineman Keith Fahnhorst, who played for the 49ers for 14 seasons (1974-87).
