The Guyana Prize Literary Festival 2026 is back, promising four days of literary celebrations, creative exchange, and cultural performances. The event being hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport commences from August 6 to 9. Beyond recognising literary excellence, the festival will offer a diverse programme of engaging workshops, storytelling sessions, the National Poetry Slam, a dramatic stage production and the prestigious Guyana Prize Award Ceremony. The awards remain the centrepiece of the festival, honouring outstanding works by Guyanese authors in the categories of fiction, drama, poetry and creative non-fiction. The expanded programme is expected to attract participants from across Guyana and the wider Caribbean.
