The move has sparked debate among Malawians with some questioning the rationale behind the easy settlement of the stated amount. It found that the unilateral reduction of Dr. Mathanga’s Salary was unlawful and amounted to unfair labour practice. The court made it crystal clear that you cannot correct one alleged wrong by committing another wrong. “Yet, instead of respecting the judgement, some people declared war on the very victim whose rights the court found had been violated,” said Kambanje.
