Published on July 29, 2026 at 12:30 PM byLingadzi Police Station in Lilongwe has arrested a 32-year-old man, Kennedy Chigwembere, for allegedly stealing motorcycles in incidents that occurred between April and July 2026. Lingadzi Police Station Public Relations Officer Maria Kumwenda said that during the period, Chigwembere approached several motorcycle owners with what appeared to be a genuine business proposal. He allegedly claimed to have customers who required parcel delivery services and offered to hire the owners’ motorcycles. During interrogation, Chigwembere allegedly admitted to the offences. Police have so far recovered five motorcycles worth K12.3 million, all linked to the case.
