Notably, no redrawn map from this session would take effect before the 2028 elections, meaning Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md., is likely safe for the short-term. The session is likely to address a constitutional amendment that would allow a redrawn map to survive judicial scrutiny. That move comes after the state Supreme Court previously struck down a map in 2022 and the Virginia Supreme Court blocked a redraw earlier this year.
