MITCHELL — Champions were crowned and cake was awarded, as the Mitchell Tennis Association hosted the 20th annual Take the Cake tournament over the weekend at Hitchcock Park.
Lily Goeddel and David Goeddel won the German Chocolate Cake division after beating Ava Prunty and John Cersosimo 8-4.
Gabbie Thompson and Zoey Zomer were victorious in the Red Velvet Cake division, defeating Alivia Dice and Isabel Chaplin 8-0 in the final.
Ellie Reindl and Nora Hobbs claimed top honors in the Cookie Cake division, completing round-robin play with a 3-1 record.
Matt Slaba claimed first-place honors in the Coffee Cake division with a 3-1 match record, and Trystian Mentele won the Ice Cream Cake division with a perfect 3-0 record.
