The New York Mets have made another trade as they continue to tear down their roster. According to the New York Post's Jon Heyman, the Mets have traded relief pitcher Luke Weaver to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for infielder Sammy Stafura. Weaver was one of the top trade candidate relief pitchers leading up to the deadline and was linked to multiple teams because of it. With the Pirates being a team that is focused on both the present and the future, it is understandable that they have brought in a high-impact relief pitcher with term like Weaver. In 42 games this season with the Mets before this trade, Weaver recorded a 2-1 record, a 1.84 ERA, and 45 strikeouts.
