The footage shows Brown looking almost absurdly calm as the grizzly moves in behind him and locks onto her meal. Another bear can be seen farther away, turning the moment into a full Alaska wildlife show with zero admission charge. The mother grizzly finds salmon near the boat and settles in to eat, apparently unconcerned by the human smiling nearby. A mother bear near food is not exactly a cuddly mascot, and even an experienced guide knows the difference between a close encounter and a very bad day.
