Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced details of the third phase of the Cross Island Line (CRL), alongside new information about the fleet of trains that will operate on the future MRT line. A second Cross Island Line depot, covering around 23 hectares, will also be built on the former Raffles Country Club site. © Government of SingaporeThe first train arrived in Singapore in May 2026 and is currently undergoing testing at the Singapore Rail Test Centre. When complete, the Cross Island Line will extend to around 67 kilometres, making it Singapore’s longest fully underground MRT line. Phase 1 of the Cross Island Line is expected to open in 2030, while Phase 2 and the Punggol Extension are scheduled for completion in 2032.
