The 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships begin Wednesday in Oregon, where some of Canada’s top young athletes will test themselves against many of the world’s best junior competitors. He will face a field led by Jamaica’s Gary Card, who set a national U20 record with a 9.93 in June, and is the only entrant to have broken the 10-second barrier. ’s Zachary Jeggo became the first Canadian U20 athlete to break 47 seconds when he set the national U20 record of 46.62 in February.
