Q COSTA RICA — A computer system outage on Saturday, August 1, caused delays in immigration control processes nationwide, especially at Juan Santamaría International (San José) Airport, forcing the cancellation of a flight. After the initial announcement of the system outage around noon, the problems with the immigration control system escalated. It wasn’t until 3:10 p.m. that immigration reported the system had been restored. Not only was the JetBlue flight canceled, but 36 other passengers missed their flights. This system failure impacts the entry and exit of people at airports and other border crossings.
