By Andrew RiceThe Center SquareSenators plan to vote Tuesday on Todd Blanche’s nomination for attorney general after he issued an order rescinding the nearly $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund.
Blanche issued an order late Sunday night, announcing a fund born out of the settlement between Trump and the IRS “is not operative.”
Blanche began serving as acting attorney general in April after Trump fired Pam Bondi.
However, Cornyn and Tillis pressed Blanche for a written document confirming the fund would not be resurrected.
Blanche said he has discussed the issue with senators and members of the committee over the past several weeks.
