Launched in 2025 as Boulder Roots Music Fest, the event quickly outgrew its original vision. Rather than operating from a single fenced festival site, Tulagi turns downtown Boulder into the festival grounds, utilizing theaters, bars, restaurants, galleries, outdoor stages, and other community spaces. Participating locations will include the Boulder Theater, Boulder Bandshell, eTown, community radio station KGNU, Museum of Boulder, and a dozen more. Beyond the music, Tulagi has expanded into a citywide celebration of creativity featuring visual artists, live painters, immersive performances, interactive experiences, and community programming throughout the weekend. Tulagi takes over downtown Boulder August 27th–30th, 2026.
