The latest application seeks planning permission for a detached single-storey house with an attached garage on land at Shield Farm, east of Coalhall. Planning documents state the application has been submitted within 12 months of the refusal of an earlier scheme and has been revised. The applicant argues the proposed house would occupy previously developed, or brownfield, land within the former farm steading rather than open countryside. The proposed plot extends to around a half hectare and would be accessed by an extension of the existing private road. The application was submitted following pre-application discussions with planners and will now be considered by East Ayrshire Council.
