TfL will then carry out resurfacing and reinstatement works before the junction can be fully reopened - however TfL has not confirmed how long this will take. Plant and materials will also begin to be removed from the Gallows Corner site this week, although excavations on Southend Arterial Road and Eastern Avenue will remain open. Gallows Corner has been the site of roadworks for more than a year, with only part of the junction reopening in May due to ongoing water main replacement works. These water works were originally planned to coincide with TfL’s flyover replacement to reduce overall disruption. In a previous update, Essex & Suffolk Water confirmed that a central section of pipework had "successfully passed the pressure test", calling it a "significant milestone".
