The Bluffton Police Department informed motorists that the posted speed limit has been reduced from 45 to 40 miles per hour on State Route 103 in the village.
This reduction was made after careful consideration of the increased amount of non-vehicular traffic along this corridor, including pedestrians and cyclists.
The goal of this change is to improve safety for everyone who uses State Route 103 while maintaining the efficient flow of traffic.
Motorists are encouraged to be aware of the new speed limit, watch for the updated signage, and use extra caution when traveling through the area.
Even a small reduction in speed can significantly increase a driver’s ability to react to unexpected hazards and help reduce the severity of crashes.
