BTS’ latest album, ARIRANG, has set the benchmark as the fastest release in Spotify history to have every song cross 200 million streams, requiring 132 days in total to hit the milestone. The K-pop group surpassed previous marks of 260 days established by Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl, reaching the threshold in about half the time. As per data compiled by Genius Korea, Swift’s 2022 album Midnights required 318 days for every song to hit 200M plays, while Billie Eilish’s 2024 release Hit Me Hard and Soft took 348 days. Bad Bunny’s 2022 album Un Verano Sin Ti and Olivia Rodrigo’s 2021 debut SOUR crossed the mark in 367 days and 430 days, respectively. Compared to them, ARIRANG has achieved the record quite quickly, far ahead of these major releases in recent years.
