Hydra OC tool creator Yuri Bubliy, better known as 1usmus, has revealed a number of new features that could help prioritize cores and boost individual core performance, reducing frame rate dips and 1% lows in gaming, VideoCardz reports. In mobile devices, where AMD may employ multiple core types—akin to Intel's P, E, and LPE core system —this could help prioritize performance cores for demanding tasks like gaming, too. In addition to controlling how much memory background applications have access to, Zen 6's memory controller may also limit the bandwidth allocated to those applications. That said, if true, these new features could help make AMD CPUs more stable for gaming. Considering Intel's Nova Lake is tapped to be serious competition for AMD, this may help give Zen 6 an edge when we start to see the first consumer chips in early 2027.
