Bartholomew County officials are urging you to sign up for a new service to receive weather alerts or emergency notifications on your phone. According to Bartholomew County Emergency Management, the existing Everbridge alert system will be ending by the end of the month. Everbridge has been used by the county for about 13 years, and is being replaced with a new alert system called CodeRED. The system will be used to notify residents about severe weather warnings, public safety incidents, evacuations, and other time-sensitive emergency information affecting Bartholomew County. Officials say that even if you previously signed up for Everbridge, you must register for CodeRED to continue receiving alerts after Everbridge is discontinued.
