A North Vernon woman has been arrested on a warrant after a more than year long investigation into a sexual assault involving a minor. According to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, deputies began investigating after receiving a report of a sexual assault involving a minor in June of 2025. After a year-long investigation, detectives developed enough evidence and probable cause for a warrant to be issued for the arrest of 32-year-old Amber Giddings. Deputies and North Vernon police were searching for her Saturday, when she was found by city officers at a convenience store. The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office thanked the North Vernon Police Department for their assistance.
