Won't end agitation before statehood: Advisor Wani
['Idrees Bukhtiyar']
Rising Kashmir
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a Social Welfare Department awareness programme in Baramulla, Wani said the party recently held a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to remind the Centre of its commitment to restore statehood.
Wani said the entire party leadership had travelled to Jantar Mantar to remind the Centre of the assurances given to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Wani said the Centre had maintained that delimitation would be followed by Assembly elections and subsequently the restoration of statehood.
Delimitation has been completed and elections have been held, but the restoration of statehood is nowhere in sight.
The advisor said the party’s leadership would meet again to chalk out its future strategy for the statehood campaign.
