At the centre of this process stands the teacher-student relationship — a relationship built on trust, patience, guidance and mutual respect. AI has already begun changing the way students learn and teachers teach. For teachers, too, AI promises relief from repetitive tasks and access to tools that can make lessons more interactive and efficient. If used carelessly, AI can weaken the teacher-student relationship by turning learning into a mechanical transaction. The relationship between teacher and student is often the first meaningful relationship outside the family in which a child learns responsibility, discipline and confidence.
