The figures, presented by the Ministry of Finance in response to an Unstarred Question raised by MP Mala Roy, show that Jammu and Kashmir had 11,17,490 operative KCC accounts in 2025-26, up from 10,66,887 in 2023-24. The data indicates that the Union Territory recorded an overall increase of 50,603 operative KCC accounts during the three-year period, reflecting continued expansion in institutional credit coverage for farmers. In contrast, Ladakh witnessed a marginal decline in operative KCC accounts. At the national level, however, the total number of operative KCC accounts declined significantly. "As reported by RBI and NABARD, the total number of operative KCC accounts as on March 31, 2026, was 7.28 crore," the minister informed the House.
