As Birch Creek Music Performance Center kicks off its final week of Summer Academy performances, it will pay tribute to one of its own on Thursday. When he was not mentoring young musicians at Birch Creek Music Performance Center, he was doing the same south of the border as a professor emeritus of music at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Executive Director Jenna Ferdon hopes Thursday's concert honors Haydon's Birch Creek legacy.
