The Baltimore Orioles traded All-Star catcher Adley Rutschman to the American League East rival, Boston Red Sox, the team announced Monday. The Orioles received catcher Carlos Narváez, right-handed pitchers Anthony Eyanson and Kyson Witherspoon, outfielder Enddy Azocar and a player to be named later or cash considerations for Rutschman and catcher Jake Rogers. Narváez, 27, hit .187 with six doubles, three home runs, and 10 runs batted in through 62 games with the Red Sox this season. During his time with the Orioles, Rutschman had 540 hits, 277 runs batted in and 69 home runs. The Orioles signed catcher Samuel Basallo to an eight-year, $67 million contract extension during the offseason.
