Kathay Rennels remembers one interaction at Colorado State University Spur that particularly sums up her career. It continued to flourish when she was hired as CSU’s director of economic development in 2009 (an “incredibly easy decision,” according to CSU System Chancellor Tony Frank). During her 16 years at CSU, she’s held roles ranging from interim vice president for Engagement and Extension to most recently, special adviser to the chancellor for rural-urban initiatives. “Her work on behalf of CSU has been transformative in so many ways, and I’m deeply grateful she’s stuck with the CSU System and me all these years. Rennels sat down with SOURCE to look back at her career, share her advice and talk about what’s next.
