The NY Post’s Jon Heyman shot off a tweet that, intentionally or not, seemed to ignore his immediate future with the Mets. The week’s long debate over trading a Mets catcher or not finally gets its resolution today. And interestingly, if the Mets were to trade one of them, Alvarez makes far more sense. You don’t talk about Mets catcher trade candidates and mention Torrens without at least bringing up Alvarez’s name. An Alvarez trade, with catcher demand as high as it is, would change this.
