CJ Ashby, a primary felling contractor to JS Wright & Sons, recently added the Cranab-fitted DAF XD to its fleet, with the truck ideally suited to overcoming the challenges faced in extracting cricket-bat willow.
The resulting DAF XD 450 6x2 rigid with rear steer features a highly customised Mac’s cheesewedge body.
(Image: PR)To solve this access conundrum, the operator partnered with Mac’s Truck Sales to engineer a highly manoeuvrable, multi-purpose rigid vehicle.
While two other dealers supply Cranab’s off-road forestry products, Mac’s Truck Sales now holds exclusive nationwide rights to supply and mount the Sweden-based manufacturer’s full range of cranes with attachments to road-going vehicles.
Andy Hall, technical director at Mac’s Truck Sales, said: “Cranab produces some of the most robust, high-performance lifting equipment in the world for the timber, forestry, and waste sectors.”
