If you're looking for starting pitchers, this is the trade deadline for you!
ESPN's Buster Olney seems to think so, anyway.
Olney reported that it was a "buyers' market" for starting pitching in the hours before the trade deadline, pointing toward San Francisco Giants left-hander Robbie Ray, Cincinnati Reds right-hander Brady Singer, New York Mets right-hander Clay Holmes, and Detroit Tigers right-hander Casey Mize as some options who could potentially be moved before the deadline strikes at 6 p.m.
Ray, 34, is the most bankable name on that list, as he has improved in each of the last three seasons after he underwent Tommy John surgery in 2023.
The Giants would love to flip an expiring contract for prospects, and could likely get a decent return for the two-time All-Star after he's pitched to a 3.08 ERA in 2026.
