Fishcross: Plans to turn woodland into residential land refused by Clacks Council
['Alexandra Baff']
Alloa and Hillfoots Advertiser | News
As previously reported in the Advertiser, the proposals, submitted by Mr George Grieve, are for land to the north west of Devonbank Cottage in Fishcross.
Currently, the land is vacant scrub woodland with animal pens and was previously part of the colliery.
The decision notice states that the site lies within an area identified as countryside in the adopted Clackmannanshire Local Development Plan 2025.
It also does not satisfy SC24 (Residential Development in the Countryside) of the Clackmannanshire Local Development Plan 2015 to justify the development of a house in this countryside location.
“The permanent development would erode the countryside character of the site and contribute to the permanent fragmentation of both a wooded area and agricultural land.
