As a result, Sandie Peggie’s appeal hearing is expected to take place early next year, according to a statement issued today by her legal team. Ms Peggie was subsequently placed on special leave after Dr Upton, a transgender doctor, made an allegation of bullying and harassment, and referenced concerns about patient care. As a result of this situation, Dr Upton was in the changing room when Ms Peggie was present on two occasions, following the initial complaint. The three-member tribunal otherwise dismissed all of the allegations made by Ms Peggie against the health board and also dismissed the claim against Dr Upton. But in a statement dated 3 August, Sandie Peggie’s legal team said: “On 31 July 2026, the employment appeal tribunal confirmed that Sandie Peggie’s appeal against the judgment of the employment tribunal dated 8 December 2025 should now proceed to a full appeal hearing.
