CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Humane Educational Society (HES) has shared that 183 animals found homes during the month of July. They say as of August 3, 2026, they have 634 animals still in their care. HES says they are still in the midst of kitten season, so kittens are overwhelming their kennels and foster families. They share they have also seen a large decrease in the number of dog adoptions over the last several months. Just this past month they have had doodles, frenchies, schnauzers, and pomeranians come in and get adopted.
