Army personnel, special guests, and members of the public attended the reveal of the Colchester Airborne Soldier Statue at the junction of Circular Road North and Flagstaff Road on Friday.
The event, which was originally planned for last year, was to mark 25 years of the 16 Air Assault Brigade in Colchester.
Following the unveiling, the crowds flocked to the Airborne Heritage Fete at the nearby Colchester Garrison cricket pitch.
Troops from 16 Air Assault Brigade displayed their equipment alongside bouncy castles, refreshments, and charity stalls.
The Red Devils parachute display team made an appearance from the sky for the event as well.
