PICTURE: MAL MCCANNCo Down developer Lotus Property has formally submitted plans to build 170 apartments in a new social housing-led project in Belfast city centre.
Belfast City Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for the student accommodation scheme was later overturned by the Planning Appeals Commission.
Part of the council’s objections was linked to the fact the site is next to an area it has designated for social housing.
Clanmil is also involved with Lotus in a large social housing project based at the site of UTV’s former headquarters on Ormeau Road.
