Nathan Carter has an All-Ireland title in singing at the Fleadh in Letterkenny in 2006 when he was 16NATHAN Carter is on a rare day off and taking it easy. After that, it is back to Ireland for more gigs, including the Moynalty Steam Threshing Festival Festival in Kells and a show in Charleville, Co Cork. “The Fleadh in Ireland was basically my summer holidays and my wins at that festival definitely paved the way for my musical career and where I’m at today,” says the 36 year-old Liverpool-born Irish Country star who won an All-Ireland (in singing) in 2006. Nathan Carter became involved with Comhaltas aged five“I was very uncool kid, looking back,” he says, laughing. He has fronted his own TV show for RTE (The Nathan Carter Show), had an autobiography published (2018) while still in his twenties (Nathan Carter: Born For The Road, My Story So Far), launched his own clothing line (currently on pause), and sang for Pope Francis in Croke Park (2018), but Nathan Carter remains as grounded and approachable as ever he was.
