Penticton Search and Rescue is reminding people to be conscious of their emergency apps, after spending two days searching for someone who was not in trouble. On Saturday, Aug. 1 at 5 p.m., PenSAR was dispatched to respond to an iPhone Emergency SOS activation in the Cathedral Lakes region. After considerable effort, it was discovered the Emergency SOS activation was done by accident. "This is an important reminder that if you accidentally activate an Emergency SOS, please contact emergency services as soon as it is safe to do so.
