People who noticed increased activity around the Bear Creek wildfire Sunday night weren’t mistaken; crews were called in to deal with a relatively small incident within the fire perimeter.
The 20 hectare Blue Grouse Mountain wildfire, is listed as “under control” on the BC Wildfire Service map, though that isn't the same as being out which means issues could still arise.
A BC Wildfire Service crew responded to extinguish the fire, with support from the NWIC group, which provided tanker support, and the Joe Rich Fire Department.
The fire was first sparked Saturday afternoon and grew up Blue Grouse mountain to a size of 20 hectares.
