Gwent Police officers carried out a search of the area after a car that had been reportedly stolen was spotted in the area. Officers were supported by the National Police Air Service (NPAS). A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "Officers, supported by the National Police Air Service, were carrying out searches after a car that had been reportedly stolen was sighted in the area. A spokesperson for NPAS said: "At 2131hrs on Sunday 2 August 2026, a police helicopter crew from NPAS St Athan was deployed to the Cwmbran area to carry out a search in support of Gwent Police. Gwent Police confirmed that no arrests have been made and enquiries remain ongoing.
