Newport City Council has reported a 28.4 per cent drop in incidents between April and June 2026 compared to the same period last year. Newport City Council said fly-tipping incidents between April and June 2026 were down by 28.4 per cent compared with the same period last year. Between April and June, officers conducted 2,921 visits to fly-tipping hotspots and issued 101 fixed penalty notices for fly-tipping and 85 for other waste offences. Fly-tipping on Pottery Road is currently being investigated as part of Newport City Council's targeted enforcement programme in one of the city's known fly-tipping hotspots. Anyone who witnesses fly-tipping or has information about illegally dumped waste is encouraged to report it to Newport City Council.
