South Wales Fire and Rescue Service have declared a major incident in the Rhondda area with crews working continuously in steep and challenging terrain to contain the fire and protect nearby communities. More than 150 hectares of common and foresty land is burning as South Wales Fire and Rescue Service have declared a major incident. Firefighters are being aided by partner agencies including Natural Resources Wales, South Wales Police, Rhonda Cynon Taf County Borough Council and health partners.
