(Image: Newport Council)A Newport City Council spokesman said: "They do both proactive and reactive work to address antisocial behaviour and community safety issues.
"The most common issues they have to deal with are antisocial behaviour and community safety, including begging, shouting, and street drinking.
Community safety enforcement officers in Newport can issue community protection warnings, fixed penalty notices and antisocial behaviour warnings.
Their powers are provided under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 and the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
"You will continue to see increased high-visibility patrols in the city centre and enforcement work across the city.
