Bus operator Stagecoach Midlands is promoting the government-backed Kids Go Free scheme as a chance for families to turn their staycations into 'Stagecations' by using regular services to reach parks, attractions and days out across the area. Children under 16 can travel free on Stagecoach buses during August when accompanied by a fare-paying adult, helping to cut costs at a time when many families are watching their budgets. Passengers can plan routes, buy tickets before boarding and track buses in real time using the Stagecoach app. Stagecoach, founded in 1980, is the UK’s largest bus and coach operator, running 8,400 vehicles across more than 100 towns and cities. With a 25,000-strong workforce, it focuses on reliable, low-carbon travel and donates up to 0.5 per cent of pre-tax profits each year to UK community causes.
